Your golf simulator software decides what you actually see on screen: the courses, the graphics, the games and the practice tools. It also decides two costs people miss, a yearly license and, for some programs, a gaming PC. The right choice depends first on what your launch monitor supports, then on whether you'll play on a PC, an iPad or the launch monitor itself.
Here's how the main programs compare, and the launch monitor that pairs best with each.

The best golf simulator software, reviewed
1. GSPro: Best for Realism and Courses
Who it's for: PC sim owners who want the most realistic play and the biggest course library.
GSPro describes itself as a true simulator built on the Unity engine, not an arcade game. It supports up to eight players locally or online, in stroke play, scramble, Stableford, match play, best ball and alternate shot. The headline is courses: GSPro ships with a driving range and a practice facility, plus access to the SGT course server, where the community has built more than 2,500 lidar-based courses that you can download free.
GSPro needs a Windows 10 or 11 PC. For a great 1080p experience, GSPro lists an RTX 3070 or 3060 Ti with 16 GB of memory, and an RTX 3080 or better with 32 GB for 4K. It's now a single yearly subscription; the lifetime option is gone, though existing lifetime licenses still work. GSPro's official list includes Uneekor, FlightScope, Foresight, Bushnell, Garmin R10 and R50, Rapsodo MLM2Pro, Square Golf and others. SkyTrak isn't on it.
Pairs best with: the Uneekor EYE MINI, which GSPro supports officially and whose higher Uneekor tiers bundle a year of GSPro. Our Uneekor vs SkyTrak comparison covers the hardware.
Pros
- Most realistic play of the bunch
- 2,500+ free community courses
- Broad official launch monitor support
Cons
- Windows PC with a strong graphics card required
- Yearly subscription only

2. E6 Connect: Best With Courses Included
Who it's for: golfers who want polished courses on an iPad or PC, often included with their launch monitor.
E6 Connect is the most widely bundled sim software. Its platform adds regional and global events, tournaments with live leaderboards, season-long leagues and clubhouses, plus practice tools such as bag mapping, gapping, shot groupings and tracers. FlightScope sells E6 bundles from 8 to more than 90 courses, and the E6 license that ships with FlightScope units runs on iOS and PC, which makes it one of the few sims you can play from an iPad.
Pairs best with: the FlightScope Mevo Gen2, which includes eight E6 Connect courses (Kiawah Ocean, Torrey Pines South, Kapalua Plantation and more) with no recurring fees. See our FlightScope Mevo review.
Pros
- Runs on iPad as well as PC
- Often included with launch monitors
- Events, leagues and practice tools
Cons
- More courses cost extra
- Course bundles vary by launch monitor brand

3. Awesome Golf: Best for Families and Games
Who it's for: households where kids, friends and non-golfers will use the sim too.
Awesome Golf runs on iOS, Android and PC. Alongside practice (distances, speeds, spin and club path, approach practice, bag gapping and club comparisons), it leans into games: par-3 challenges, longest drive, target games and arcade-style modes. Its courses are original designs with distinct looks, from countryside to tropical islands. Awesome Golf sells annual and lifetime licenses and now lists Foresight and Bushnell support, alongside the Garmin R10, which Garmin lists as compatible.
Pairs best with: the Garmin Approach R10, a budget radar unit that also works with Home Tee Hero, GSPro and E6. Read our Garmin R10 review.
Pros
- Fun games for mixed groups
- Runs on mobile and PC
- Lifetime license option
Cons
- Original courses rather than famous real ones
- Less of a "tour sim" feel than GSPro

4. Garmin Home Tee Hero: Best No-PC Simulator
Who it's for: golfers who don't want to buy or maintain a gaming PC.
Home Tee Hero gives Garmin owners more than 43,000 courses, 15-plus with enhanced lidar-scanned greens, with an active Garmin Golf membership. With the R10, it runs through the Garmin Golf app on a phone or tablet. With the R50, it runs on the launch monitor's built-in 10-inch touchscreen and goes to a projector or TV over HDMI, so the launch monitor is the simulator.
Pairs best with: the Garmin Approach R50, a camera-based unit that sits beside the ball.
Pros
- Huge course count
- No PC needed with the R50
Cons
- Garmin Golf membership required
- R50 is a premium purchase

5. Foresight Software: Best for Foresight and Bushnell Owners
Who it's for: owners of Foresight GC3, GCQuad and Bushnell Launch Pro units.
Foresight now runs its simulator software (Premier) and its app under one Foresight+ membership. Silver and Gold are yearly tiers, and courses come from a Course Pass (35 courses) or Course Pass Pro (111 courses), both of which need Silver or Gold. Premier needs a gaming PC. On Bushnell units, GSPro requires an active Gold membership on top of a GSPro license. Our Bushnell Launch Pro review explains the tiers.
Pairs best with: the Foresight GC3 Players Plus Bundle, which the Amazon listing pairs with FSX Play software and 20 courses.
Pros
- Polished software built for Foresight hardware
- Large course library with Course Pass Pro
Cons
- Layered memberships add up
- Gaming PC required

6. Rapsodo Courses: Best Built-In Courses on a Mid Budget
Who it's for: Rapsodo owners who want courses and practice games in one app.
With a Core or Studios membership, Rapsodo unlocks its Driving Range, Target Range and Courses, plus Bag Mapping and Wedge Matrix, and the partner apps GSPro, E6 Connect, Awesome Golf and The Stack. Studios adds Rapsodo's 4K courses. Rapsodo also offers a PC app that needs Core. The MLM2XPRO adds putting tracking, so courses no longer rely on Auto Putt.
Pros
- Courses and practice in one membership
- Partner apps included in the membership's access
Cons
- Spin and courses locked behind membership
- Partner apps need their own licenses

7. VoiceCaddie S: Best Free Starter
Who it's for: budget buyers who want a simulator experience with no monthly fee.
Voice Caddie's free VoiceCaddie S app turns the SC4 Pro into a 3D driving range, with session stats and synchronized swing video. Voice Caddie says the SC4 Pro is also compatible with E6 Connect, and retail listings mention five included E6 courses. It's not GSPro-level realism, but it costs nothing extra.
Pros
- Free app, no subscription
- 3D range plus E6 compatibility
Cons
- Limited compared with full sims
- Radar unit, so indoor spin is less reliable

Buying guide: how to choose golf simulator software
Start with compatibility
Not every program works with every launch monitor. GSPro publishes an official supported list; Garmin, Rapsodo, FlightScope, Uneekor and Foresight each list their compatible partners. SkyTrak runs its own plans, with Core offering Foresight or TrackMan course libraries. Check before you buy hardware.
Decide on PC, tablet or no computer
- Gaming PC: GSPro and Foresight's Premier. Budget for a capable graphics card.
- iPad or mobile: E6 Connect (iOS), Awesome Golf (iOS and Android), Garmin Golf, Rapsodo and Uneekor's apps.
- No computer: Garmin's R50 runs Home Tee Hero on the device.
Count the yearly cost
Most sim software is now a yearly license, and some launch monitors add their own membership on top. Price both for two or three years. Software bundled with the launch monitor (FlightScope's E6 courses, Voice Caddie's free app, Uneekor's free Player tier) is the cheapest start.
Courses vs practice vs games
Pick by how you'll use the bay: GSPro for rounds on realistic courses, E6 for events and leagues, Awesome Golf for games with family, and your launch monitor's own app for focused practice.
Plan the room around the software
Software doesn't change your room size, but a projected picture does. If you're adding a screen and projector, follow our DIY golf simulator guide.
Try before you commit
Most programs offer a trial with new hardware: Rapsodo includes 21 days of Core, Foresight devices come with 30 days of Foresight+ and a Course Pass, and Uneekor includes a 3-month Ultimate trial. Use the trial to test the software in your room and on your computer before paying for a year.
How we chose
We did not test these programs ourselves. We read each developer's or partner's official pages: GSPro's FAQ, system requirements and supported-device list; E6's platform pages and FlightScope's E6 bundles; Awesome Golf's feature pages; Garmin's Home Tee Hero details; Foresight+ membership tables on Bushnell's site; Rapsodo's membership FAQ; Uneekor's membership table; and Voice Caddie's app description. Launch monitor pairings follow each software's official compatibility. For hardware picks across every budget, see our best golf launch monitors.
FAQ
What is the best golf simulator software?
For realism and course variety on a PC, GSPro is the favorite of many sim owners: it runs on the Unity engine, offers 2,500+ free community-created lidar-based courses and supports a long list of launch monitors. For iPad users and included courses, E6 Connect is the most common. For families and games, Awesome Golf is the easiest to enjoy.
Is GSPro a subscription?
Yes. GSPro says its lifetime add-on is no longer available and it now sells a single yearly subscription that includes updates. Existing lifetime licenses keep working.
Does GSPro work with SkyTrak?
SkyTrak is not on GSPro's list of officially supported launch monitors. GSPro asks owners of unsupported units to ask the manufacturer for support. Check GSPro's site for the current list before buying.
Do you need a gaming PC for golf simulator software?
For GSPro and Foresight's Premier, yes. GSPro requires Windows 10 or 11 and lists RTX-class graphics cards for a great 1080p or 4K experience. E6 Connect and Awesome Golf also run on iPad or mobile, and Garmin's R50 runs Home Tee Hero on the device itself.
What is the cheapest golf simulator software?
The software that comes with your launch monitor. FlightScope's Mevo Gen2 includes eight E6 Connect courses with no recurring fees, the SC4 Pro includes a 3D driving range and E6 courses, and Uneekor's free Player tier includes its VIEW driving range.
Verdict
If you have a capable Windows PC, GSPro is the software to aim for, and a GSPro-supported unit like the Uneekor EYE MINI is the cleanest pairing. On an iPad, E6 Connect with a FlightScope Mevo Gen2 gives you real courses with no recurring fees. And if the bay is for the whole family, Awesome Golf is the most fun per dollar.
